forks aren't smooth

Recommended Posts

Hey I have a 1997 CR250 and the suspension has been worked by jm racing a while back. The forks are really sticky, and they dont compress when i sit on the bike like they are supposed to. You really have to give t a real hard push on them, then they jerk in a sticking motion, straight down, and straight back up. Any one know how many clicks should i go on the bottom and the top, roughly? Also, should I compress my forks and let the air out or the air screws so it has vacuum? or is it better to have air in the forks? Please help, and I thank you a lot.

Make sure that your R/S fork is not bound up on the axle. If thats ok then you probably need new fork bushings.

Open the air screws with the bike standing on just its own weight.
