How do you do you Mono's on dirt and Gravel??

Recommended Posts

Yea I may sound like an amature, But seriously how do you do it?

I can easily pop up the front wheel on Bitumen, But on dirt or gravel, if i try like it was on bitumen, the back wheel just spins! I dont understand how you can do it?

Ive tried sitting rite back on the seat but no, in first the back wheel just starts spining!

Ive seen in magazines, KTM's, CRF's, WR's and you know, those type's, doing mono's on dirt and I thought it was because of their Power, but on this forum you all do it on the XR as well!

So whats the secret? :cry:

What is bitumen?

To pull a wheelie (mono :cry:) in gravel, , you need to try and make the back wheel not spin. There are several RPM ranges where it wont really do it (mid-high, and super low work nicely). Experiment. Also really helps to jam back on the bars and throw your weight backwards.

Me? I just pin it and watch the roost fly. Wheelies are for harder dirt :cry:

Bitumen = Pavement

Hows the rear tire look, and is it the correct type for the soil? Bitumen vs Knobbies, knobbies always lose! You can also go down a tooth or 2 on the front sprocket. That will make it wheelie easier, but at the cost of top end speed.
