crf100 oil screen

Recommended Posts

You have to take the right side engine cover off. Kick start side. The filter is towards the bottom of the engine.

Be careful. There are a lot of parts to take off to get to it. And you may need a new crankcase gasket for that side. The bolts on that side are also VERY easy to srip out, so don't push too hard. I got to mine and it was totally clean, just to find out how to strip those bolts and the guy before me glued the gasket on. Have fun....

The screen is not normally something you clean, it's mainly something you check, like a diagnostic tool. It lets you know if anything is wrong by the aluminum or metal shavings. So every time I change my clutch or think somethings up, I check it. Also, grease up your clutch cover gasket, becuase you can spend a lot of time with a razor blade scraping it off, rather than just having it come off cleanly in one piece. When it does come off in one piece, that's one happy day.
