Recommended Posts

i have a 400ex quad with a yzf 400 motor  .. not sure  what all was done to it but it runs pretty good  other then some times when i hit a jump or go up a hill it will stall sometimes i can blip throttle and it will be fine but other times it just dies out... and also today i set it back on the grab bar and noticed gas pouring out so i figure when i'm going up hill it is flooding... is this a float problem??? and how do i fix it

The carb is not made to be set pointing straight up. The float level is normally OK on climbs within the range you can get traction.

A YZ400 has very lean jetting stock. Try moving the clip position 1-2 steps richer and adjust the fuel screw as needed for best response and idle.
