cant find excels

Im looking to get some red excels for my crf250 but all i can find is black gold and silver. Does anyone know where you can find the other colors? Also do you need to buy new hubs and spokes to use them or can you use the rims with the stock spokes and hubs? About how much does it cost for a shop to lace up the rim and spokes and true it?

Good question, I was wondering that myself. My guess is that they wont fit stock hubs because thats another way for the aftermarket folks to make more dollars.

Last I knew Excel stopped making certain colors due to lack of demand. If you really want red Excel's buy a set of non-colored Excels and have them anodized any shade of red you want. The coating is tougher than paint but not bulletproof. It will show chipping with age.

Also, no prblem with the OEM spokes and hub, but you will need someone that knows how to do the job.

thanks for all the responses that one east coast place does have everything...you really think the red will fade that quickly? why doesnt the black turn to grey?

Stock hub and Excel spokes is the route I went for an 18" Excel rear rim. I had Thumpertalk locate the rim/spokes and purchased them here (1-866-6SHOPTT)

Just don't leave the bike outside or wash with simle green. Simple green fades anodization fast.
