05 Counter Shaft Sprocket

Recommended Posts

I am going to buy some parts for my 05 today and was just curious if you have to shim the counter shaft sprocket when you put an o-ring chain on it? I had to shim my 02.

first day i got my 05 crf i put a DID gold series x ring chain on it. I just put it on adjusted it and went ..its fine.

I rode mine for about an hour before we put hte cahin on though and i noticed that the white thing in front of the rear wheel and some of the knobbies were getting hit by the stock chain..

The countershaft sprocket spacer is only like a dollar and that's pretty cheap insurance against chewing up your case half.

I recommend Fastway

I'm using a DID o-ring on my '05 with no shim or problems.

Have you looked behind the front sprocket?

Just as good as I could see with a shop light. I used the same chain on the 04 though with no problems .
