05 YZF250 Suspension

Recommended Posts

Someone probabaly asked this question before, I didn't get it. Is the fork serviced the same way that a Showa fork is serviced? I mean tooling for oil changes and valving changes? Could someone pm me on this one. I also would like to know what spring rates would suit my frame: 143-145lbs

5'8.5" height, Novice/junior rider, MX intermidiate terrain(some sand and hardpack). 2005 YZ250F. I know some you fellow and ladies are quite knowledgeable on this, thanks.

I believe my '05 KX250 and the '05 YZF use a similar fork. I am not familiar with all the procedures on the Showa but the Kayaba fork is basically the same. The fork caps might be different between the KX and YZ but the only tools out of the ordinary I needed for the KX was a fork cap wrench and the two pronged metal plate to hold the piston rod. As far as changing the valving, there is nothing special needed there. Good luck.
