opinions on radiator guards/braces

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some opinions on available radiator guards/braces. What are your likes and dislikes of the guards you have on your crf450?

I currently have works connection braces on my 03 crf450. I want to add frontal protection also, not sure if I want to buy seperate front guards or complete front and side.

It depends on your riding style.

I used WC braces and never killed a radiator on my 04.

I think using just braces lets in more air.

For the 05 I'm trying the Unabiker full guards.

They look like they let in more air than other full guards, and appear very sturdy. I will have them soon, and know more then on fit/finish.

If your a hill climbing woods rider like me....consider the full guards. I know someone will buy your WC braces.

I ran the works Connection on my KX 500 for years, the only problem I have had is the the mounts on the radiator have cracked and broken, but the braces kept them in place. The 500 vibrates everything to hell and I regularly break pipe mounts too.

My vote is for Flatlands! They protect from impact on the side as well as the front. Very strong, $75. Bucks.
