Big bore kit v. Motor Work

Which is the best way to go for MX racing. I am a vet B rider who races 99% MX. I rode a '04 with YOT motor/FMF pipe and the thing ripped . How does that compare to a big bore kit? They are about the same cost so I am trying to figure out which way to go.

By the way, selling my CRF450 to get a YZF250. I had way more fun on the 250F(YOT bike) and it didnt feel all that underpowered compared to the 450.

Both would be ideal, I have stocker with all the bolt on goodies exhaust etc...My friend has one with a RPM's 302 kit and head work, it rips!!!

Feels much like a 450 but lighter and smaller, much easier to handle. I'm considering the smae when my 05' finally gets here. We both race Vet as well.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the 250F. If you can get both get the 282 kit and porting but if you have to choose between the 2, get the porting unless you want to spend a couple g's on the 302. I think Eric Gorr does porting for 200 and the bore for 300.
