MCCT Install Question

Recommended Posts

This may be a very silly question but when installing the mcct (which I have just received from Machinist-thanks) do you need to use a gasket. The only reason for asking is I notice that on the new one there is a rubber seal on the inside which there isn't on the old one. Plus I've broken the old gasket and can't get one until Wednesday

Nope, the rubber seal is all that's needed. The only other thing you need to do is add some blue thread sealer (loctite) to the threads of the adjuster after you make the proper tension.

no gasket needed. The O-ring with Machinest's MCCT is all you need. The addition of thread sealer is never a bad idea.... But as vibration resestance is not needed. I would not choose medium strength thread locking compound (blue locktite) I use and recomend a wicking low strength thread locking compound like Locktite 290

Adjust MCCT, put 2 drops on the fastener at the lock nut. It will wick into the threads and seal/lock
