Stainless Steel Oil Filter

I just baught one for my 2005 450, but i wanted to run paper filters for the first couple oil changes, because off the extra metal from breaking in? But I hav a few more hours left on this oil and then i will put the steel one in.

You can get that same brand on rockymountainmc for a lot less. I had one on my yz250f and have one in my crf450. Good stuff.

I bought one for my 02 in 02 just transfered it to my new 05 ,it is the last filter you will need ,jrgraham.com has them for 34.95,I don't know if they are as good as the scotts,my scotts has been great so far.

what do yall clean them with?

Spray them out with carb cleaner, soap and water, solovent?? :cry:

brake cleaner or carb spray. i back-wash the filter shooting from the inside. :cry:

I'd rather throw my old filters and the trash it picked up away. That way I don't have to hope I got the filter clean before I reinstalled it. I realize it's probably fine to use the stainless filters, but you only need to miss one piece of grit one time to kill an expensive motor...
