How to get bike on/off bike stand

Whats the best way to get the bike on and off a bike stand? Just picked up my new DRZ400S last week and starting to work on it, but it's too heavy to lift onto the stand. Any tricks?

Thanks in advance,

A few choices..

1: Put kick stand down, stand on left side,, lean bike toward you,, tip/angle stand underbike, push/lift bike and stand in to upright position.

2: stand on left side.. put stand on right. place your self in the middle of the bike,, left hand on bars,, right hand just behind seat. Pull the bike toward you with stiff arm,, lefting and pivoting on hip.. set on stand.

I'm 5'6" and both of these methiods work for me.

if you are a wimp like me get a lift stand. I dropped my bike a broke my clutch handle with the regular stand. Lift stand worth every penny.

Steroids

I got a cheap s$$ Chinese lift stand for $30. Dont know what Id do without it.

Same one cost 200$ in my country.

DAMM imports

Hmmm... How much does it weight , out of curiocity ?

These lever type stands slide right under the skidplate. Then you just step on the lever

I'd say it weighs about 50 pounds.

Get a Tom Slick bike rack and just lift the back onto a crate.

I put a small piece of 2x4 under the kickstand. From the right side,

I push the bike away from me and with my right foot I

slide my milk crate under the bash plate and pull the

bike towards me. EZ stuff.
