Nearly 5 weeks since my last ride!

Recommended Posts

work, chores, weather, family obligations... all in all... 5 weeks since I've been on my bike. I have had a few minutes here and there with my kids on the XR100 and PW80. The PW50 has seen some action since getting the training wheels. Guess the only bike not gettin' any is the 426! Had plans to go riding at the track tomorrow night... however looks like the rain is killing those.

there... just felt like playing "woe is me" for a moment.

I haven't ridden in a little over 7 weeks. I had a fractured Ulna. I go see the doctor next Wednesday, so hopefully I'll get the OK to go riding again.

sonorawfo,

track is closed if it rains... that was the plan for tomorrow night.

Weekends are tough with kids having things going on so I was looking at a weekday night... could still happen. That is if work doesn't get in the way.

ManicHispanic,

definately done that before... actually got stuck so deep in the red Georgia mud I began to wonder if I'd be able to get out! I was sinking up to my knees trying to pull my bike out... it was a mess! I think I spent more time pulling my bike [and myself] out of the mud hole than actually riding!

Steven128,

sure sorry to hear about your injury... I guess me not getting to ride due to clutter schedule isn't nearly as bad as being injured. I just need better time management!

Hope you're back out on 2-wheels soon!

YamahaSteve,

I definately don't need a track to ride. The option was raised because all weekend plans keep getting upended by other "fatherly" and "husbandly" duties. So I was thinking outside the box and landed on the track. Night time... you know go riding while the kids are doing homework, going to bed, etc. Figured I'd be able to break away for a few hours.

Otherwise... I have been riding trails the majority of the time...

sounds so simple... go ride... now if I can just get the wheels in motion.

Case in point... it's now 8:40pm and I'm still sitting here at work [since 6 this morning].

I've gone 3 months without touching mine. I'm on a motorcycle all day long during the summer on the farm. The last thing I want to do is work and go riding. But when I do ride again, I miss it and have a blast

E-WA,

I can understand that... I'm sitting at a computer all week long and the last thing I want to do is go home and work on the computers at the house... of course my wife and kids have other opinions on that. I find myself being tech support when I get home...

So for me... riding is my great relaxer and get-away! It's kinda like when I put my helmet on and get out riding I can escape from all the other responsibilities and just enjoy the wind, dirt, bumps, jumps, smells, sounds... man I'm going riding!!!

know the feeling well. Its been 4 weeks for me, since my last fall. Doc told me that I cannot bump my head again for at least 4 weeks, or risk some more seroius problems. Work and other commitments are not helping either

Haven't rode since June 13th.... Getting close though. I was finally able to get a boot on my foot the other night and walk around in it.....Could be worse though, at least I am able to walk and finally get a boot on....Feels like it will be another few weeks before I can get out and ride without being in pain all the time.

RJB,

I feel terrible that so many people are injured [including yourself]. I haven't been able to ride due to schedule conflicts but at least I'm staying unbattered and bruised. After making this post I realized that I was lucky to not be able to ride simply because of my schedule. I can at least say "well at least I have my health and I'm not broken in some way".

To all of you who are injured... I wish you a speedy recovery!

As for my poor excuse(s) for not riding... plans are in place to be able to ride this Saturday morning... then of course return home and go with the family to the "Cowboy Festival" at the museum. So far... the weekend is looking good!

mkporn,

again... another fellow rider out of the game due to injury. My situation is so petty compared to all the pain ya'll are going through... I'm starting to feel like a whiner

I wish you a complete recovery [and soon too] because doing anything in pain just isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Some lady rear-ended me while blabbing on her cell phone. 3rd degree whiplash.

Now my back that survived 29 years of hard riding and racing is totally fried and I won't be able to ride for at least another 2 months.

Lady on cell phone.
