brass shavings in oil at oil change ok or BAD

hello all my bike has been going well i changed the oil the other day i recently purchased it used from a guy its an 03 drze i changed the oil when i got it no brass shavings then i took a 85 mile runn in mountains got back and changed oil i was running castrol motorcycle 20/50 wtreg oil and it had brass shavings in oil the magnetic drain plug had no metal is this normal or should i dump this bike and get another drze thanks for you input jt

there is no brass in a drz motor.

well no brass,, but Silicon bronze bushings in a few spots

change the oil and filter,along with cleaning the frame screen.use a good motorcyle oil and try it again.

i wouldnt be suprised if the oil had never been changed.
