How much lighter the E subframe from the S ?

Recommended Posts

not counting the rear foot pegs.... I could just barely tell the difference in weight from one to the other by hand.. So under a pound I would say.. But I did not weight them... So it's just an educated guess.

The bigger advantage of swapping if you off road,,is ,, I have seen a huge difference in the damage being done to the E sub frame vs the S. The S has a large amount of rear overhang,, and that seems to allow it to get bent to the side much easier..

I agree with bronco, it is much more of a damage control factor. There are times I've seen my rear fender piece twisted over 90* and once I got my bike out of the tree  it snapped back into place and couldn't tell it ever happened. I know that if an S was put in the same tree that it would not only have bent the sub-frame but I bet it would have been a lot harder to get down.
