DR Z250: What are the specs of fork and rear springs?

Recommended Posts

I have visited different Web sites and none of them include the DRZ 250, only the 400, which seems to be different.

Do you know what the specs are on the fork and shock springs?

Thanks in advance!

i dont have any info on the rear shock specs...but here's some on the front:

Fork info:

free length is 502.6 mm(19.79 in) with a limit of 492 mm.

Stroke is 11 inches (280 mm)

Oil level is 143 mm (5.6 in.)

Oil capacity is 526 ml (17.8 US ounces) equal 5.6 in down from the top of the fork.

526 ml = 0.555817996 US quart

Oil type is SS-07 or equivalent.

BTW, the front forks are the same as the 43mm Showa forks that are on the DR350 and on the XR400.

I no longer have my DR-Z250, nor do I have an XR400, but I'm not sure that this is correct. I do know that the DR-Z250 fork uses a damping rod, while the XR400 is a cartridge type. Both have adjustable compression and rebound. It is certainly true that they are both 43 mm. That could mean a nice upgrade path for forks for the DR-Z250.

I think that the innards are somewhat different, however.

These shocks are very very hard to find. The length is dead on: 503mm but the od is 35mm...

I just looked around and no Web site seems to have them. I will call mx-tech and find out.

Anybody has ever been able to find these shocks on any web site?
