In the instance of your DRZ S model.. 'Pri' is short for "Prime" which lets fuel flow constantly, like the E model petcock's 'on'. And "On" requires a vacuum to flow fuel.
Yes, so if the carb bowl is empty b/c you had it in storage and winterized it, or just simply dropped the bike, putting it on prime lets fuel flow into the bowl b/c otherwise you'll be kick starting it for a while trying to get fuel to get in there via vacuum.......
Thank you both , But this wasn't for my DRZ but to my Brother's DR650 (Which is the reason I asked here and not in DRZ forum :-) )
Its the same on the DR650, Pri. is free flow and on is vac. flow.
