cams

How many people have had a problem with there cam sprocket slipping or coming off, havn't seen or heard of this one yet. wouldn't the heat from the welder cause the metal to expand and ride looser on the cam, allowing more movement and the possibility of breaking the weld.

yes the sprocket will expand and the cam shaft when heat is put to it. but when it cools it will contract.once a tack is there it's not going any where. i am a welder by trade and when i get my new rmz- 05 next month i will check it out,to see if it needs to be done. are the guys talking intake and exhast cam?

What's up Art? Are you hearing of this happening or just looking at preventative measures? ?

Rex. Maybe I'll get you to do some work on my bike if you ever get that welder to your house. There's likely a few wobbly pops ? available for payment.

Yes it does happen, I have witnessed a couple. One had slipped many degrees.

So this leads to the next big question, anyone willing to share their cam LC values, and being greedy any special combos better than stock?
