turns??

Recommended Posts

Practice proper technique by going at 60% speed until you can do it over and over with out thinking. Buy a motocross techniques book or Gary Semics turning video. Practice practice practice. Can't force it. Have a friend video tape you so you can see what your doing right and wrong.

Get as far up on the tank as you can, brake coming into the turn and hit the gas about 1/3 the way through turn, you will feel the back of the bike move around but your front tire will be planted, trust the bike and let the power carry you through the turn, the back end will move around allot but just stay focused and trust the bike to pull you out. When in doubt throttle out!

The best advice I received on turns was to look ahead, get up close to the gas cap and lean the bike over so your butt crack is on the edge of the seat. By having the edge of your seat in your butt crack, you are assured you are leaning your bike and you also keep your body more upright. Unlike road bikes, you don't really want to lean your body too heavily in the turns. Look at pictures of the pros, you will see their bodies pretty much in an upright position and the bike leaned over.
