xr100 Head gasket ?

Recommended Posts

I am fixing a 1990 xr100 up for my girlfriend. Tore it apart and starting from the ground up. I bored the cylinder .040 over and wiseco piston, but I have 2 different head gaskets. One is stock honda and is .050 thick the other is from ebay and is .010 thick. Is it ok to use the thinner one or will I bend a one of the new valves that I just put in it. Higher compression is good, bent valve is BAD.

Thanks

Chris

They cut the deck height sometime in the 90's. The thicker gasket is the correct one. Mock it all up with the thinner gasket and put some clay on top the piston and see how close it comes. But someone else might be able to tell you without doing that.
