BBR springs enough for 200lb rider?

Recommended Posts

I'm new to the sport, and I recently bought a used 2003 150F for trails and beginner tracks. I haven't taken it out yet, but I assume that the stock spring shocks will bottom out on a 200 pound person. Is that correct? Will the heavy duty BBR spring shock and fork shocks (30% stiffer) be enough for me? Do you recommend any other adjustments (i.e. change oil in forks)?

I know Works makes some great shocks, but that is more than I care to spend.

I wouldn't spend any money on anything until you have a chance to ride it.

I'm close to 200 pounds with all the gear on a 230 and so I haven't had any problems on trail riding. I'm not jumping the bike, but that's not what I wanted from the bike when I purchased it.

Yea you will probley need them, I am 220 and just bought a set of the BBR springs and used them twice. They make the bike alot better to ride and give it a firmer feeling for sure. Now I am installing CR85 suspension so I am selling off the BBR springs and shock spring.

Let me know if you are interested.

Selling them for $ 60 for Front Springs and & for rear shock.
