Rear sprocket size

Recommended Posts

I put a 51 tooth Renthal on mine. I haven't seen more than a 51 tooth as a regular product offering. By the way, you can use DR-Z400 rear sprockets on the 250.

1 tooth smaller in front is same two up in rear. Or in our case a 51 in rear and cheaper right Doc? I just ordered my 12 tooth on ebay for 19.00 shipped. Still waiting on it.

Way back when...before dirt was invented...and I was trying to find aftermarket parts for my DRZ-250, I couldnt find a single manufacturer that made a replacement front sprocket for that bike. I ended up getting a Stealth rear sprocket from Sprocket Specialists. It was the 52 tooth one, part # 452AE.

I hear that the rear sprockets for the 400 fit the 250. However, you'll be going up 5 teeth...that means you're going to need a longer chain as well. I went up 4 teeth and put on a new oem front sprocket and added 3 links to get it just right.

Isnt it a 49 in the rear stock? that would be up 4 teeth. Am i better of going down one in front and up 2 in rear?

Also will the 400 front sprocket fit the 250?
