jetting for stock bike

Recommended Posts

I plan to change the jetting on my bike today. It runs very lean with the stock settings. This is what I plan to do and I would like to get some feed back from someone that knows more or has done the same.

First what slot should the needle be in. If I am told the " second slot." Is this the second slot from the top or the bottom?

Second How many turns from full in should the pilot screw be.

Third I have a 145 and a 150 main jet which one should I try first. My goal is smooth low end power.

fourth 42 pilot.

fifth 55 leak.

And should I really mod the airbox? I do not need more top end. If this mod helps low mid power please let me know.

It is very hard for me to find time to work on my bike and I

will have time in about two hours so a quick responce would be great. Thanks.

I woudl actually go the 3rd clip. and that would be from the top. Try the pilot screw at about 2.25 turns for a starting point. For a main if you leave the insert in your exhaust I would say a 145 but if you take it out and do the airbox mod then probably a 148 or 150. Stick with the 42 pilot and 55 leak. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

And do the airbox mod! 😢
