bash/glide/skid plate differences?? preferences?

could anyone explain the differences between the three? advantages/disadvantages?

cheers

I like the glide plates for the WR450. easier to clean and does not trap mud. You dont have to remove it to do an oil change. The stock engine guards are pretty good on the WR450. If you buy a true bash plate they tend to require removal for cleaning and some for oil changes. Stock engine guards usually have to be removed as well. There is a little less protection for the cases in nasty boulders and rocks but the bash plates cant protect everything either. It is really rider preference. I have bashed the glide pretty hard over rocks and logs It does a very good job protecting the frame rails and under side engine casing.
