Better starting?

Recommended Posts

Is it true that if i disconnect the light blue wire from my CDI it will make a hotter spark when in nutral? i heard it keeps the bike from thinking its in nutral, because its said that when its in nutral it has a less hot spark? any thoughts on this?

Yes, Disconnecting the Wire is supposed to "help" starting but I couldn't tell a difference on my bike. I took it off to get rid of the ugly neutral switch itself.I got Tired of seeing that mess under my shifter. The best things you can do to make a bike start easier, at least the simplest is making sure your bike is jetted properly and has a clean carb. Make sure your valves are within spec and if you want to spend some mula go pick yourself up a 03 cam if you dont already have one, It makes starting much easier.

Mine starts easier when cold. Not as many kicks. If you kick fast it helps start easier. When it's warm I didn't see a difference though.
