Where to pull power from?

I've got an 02 WR250F that I'm working on putting lights on (to make it street legal). But I'm not 100% sure where to cut into the harness.. I'm asuming I can cut into the yellow wire coming from the CDI magneto for power and cut into the black wire coming from the voltage regulator for the ground. Am I on the right track here or about to set something on fire? ?
