Set-up for my 96 DR350SE

Recommended Posts

I have a 1996 Suzuki DR350SE. I'm 43 and ride about 80% on the street and 20% in the desert. I'm 6'1" & 185lbs. I've been told that the stock set up (5.7kg/mm Rear spring) is for a 160LBS. rider. When in the desert going over the whoops I bottom out. I bought a new 7.6 spring and #2 Kouba Links. I've been told this will help out a great deal. Any different thoughts on the matter? Do I need to revalve?

I haven't gotten time as yet to install the items. My question is, do I now need to do something to the front fork shocks?

Thanks for any help.

(I also have a very nice 1995 DR350-Dirt model for sale. I'm in San Diego.)

You need to stiffen the front also for sure, I find that is the weakest link. If you are serious about it get a dirt model shock and fork, they are way better and offer more adjustment. ('96 model or after are the best)

I tried the Kouba but didn't like how it made the bike squat, many people love them though.
