Tuning help for CRF230 w/ T4 exhaust

Recommended Posts

😢 Hello everybody. I wanted to know what I should do to help out my top end performance. I have an 04 CRF230, with the Honda full power needle, 132 jet, Snorkle removed, Uni-filter and Pro-Circuit T4 exhaust. My problem is that I have a great bottom end, but when I am at the upper end, the motor really looses power. I am getting alot of discoloration on my header as well. I was thinking that I might have to increase the jet size, but wanted to see what others thought first. Thanks in advance.

Pipes discolor, that's not a problem.

Does it backfire at all on let off?

For $4 each I'd probably just buy a spread of main jets. Jump to the 138 first & see if that makes a change for the better. If the pipe flows better than the stock exhaust you should be lean & require a bigger main jet. You might want to do some wide open throttle runs up hill. Before you let off the throttle pull in the clutch & hit the kill switch then come to stop & check the spark plug. Helps to have a new plug for this. Shooting for a tan color.

Welcome to TT 😢
