I just worn out the stock original tire, on the 04 250f,( indication of hours

on motor),should I do a value check, replace piston, or what on the bike,

Seems to run fine no problems, or just keep riding.

You should be checking your valves regardless of tire wear. Heckler posted an easy how-to on not only checking, but re-shimming if necessary (thanks Heckler!). I could possibly be the most non-mechanically inclined person alive and using Heckler's instructions, I checked my valves all by myself. After the first time, it only gets easier and quicker. I don't think piston replacement should be necessary, although the manual says you should replace it every 15 hours I think. I'm assuming that's for the absolute pros? I can't afford a new piston every 15 hours, that's for sure.

I wore my original tire out after one summer on my CRF250X, (about 1000miles). The stock dunlop is a soft tire and will wear rather quickly anyway. I do not think an engine rebuild is necessary yet.

Hope this helps

One worn out rear tire = Complete Honda overhaul

piston, rod, crank bearings, replacement valves, re-shim, valve guides, timing chain, and clutch plates.

Get a new tire.
