I race an 04 yzf250 and i was wondering if anyone has any free performance tips like cutting out the backfire screen on the airfilter cage or stuff like that. Thanks in advance.

I think cutting a bigger hole in the top of your aqir box will give you a lot mor power out of the starting gate! ? It worked for me even know I don't race ?

psst...., the air box is an open air box ? You would have to put a hole in the seat. ?

cut out the screen and take off the air box top are the easist.

I dont think that post was remotely close to being helpful. The YZ doesnt have a lid to the airbox like the wr does. I pulled the stock backfire screen and put in a 125 air filter cage, no wires to worry about coming loose or poking you. Plan on jetting the main a step richer. You could make yourself a home made verson of the powernow,..although i bought one. Suffer from a bog?..Try blocking off the leak jet or ordering a smaller leak jet. Blue wire mod.
