spark plug for klx300

Recommended Posts

I searched and found that the plug for my 98 KLX 300 is an NGK CR8E . So I pulled the plug that was in the bike and found an NGK CR7E . I bought the bike used and I'm strating to do a little maint. to it before I start ridding. What is the difference in the plugs ? Should I use another CR7E or is the CR8E the one to use ? I set the gap at .030 . It was a pita to start before I chaged the plug , now it starts 1st or 2nd kick 😢 The bike has the 340 big bore kit and a FMF head pipe and spark arester.

the cr7e will burn a little hotter then the cr8e... how does the plug look? did it look lean? if so id say change to the cr8e. and i believe the klx should be gapped to .032... i could be wrong though.
