What size shim

Recommended Posts

I have a .006 gap on the left valve, and .004 on the right. The right side has a 285 shim. What size should I switch to to get it up to the same .006? Will the new shim align itself in the center after I put the metal cover over it or is there a trick?

i think .280 will work, i am sure burned or bronco will be along shortly to confirm. just stick it in spring on top of valve stem, should fit right in there. -jamie

I got it all back together. The sprockets are at 2 and 3. 3 is 15 pins from 2. My cam chain tensioner was different from the one in the manual. I had to bolt the body in, then slide the spring in and tighten the bolt. I could hear it tightening, and the chain tightened up. I'm a little nervous about starting it. Is there anything else I should check before I try and start it?

I hit the button and it started right up. Then it started shooting oil everywhere. I forgot to put the generator cover cap, and the timing inspection plug back in 😢 . I knew I would forget something. 😢
