3x3 and jets, What to buy?

Recommended Posts

Sorry, I know this has been discussed many times.

I have an 00' S.

Do I need the DJ kit or just the jets to do the 140/25? 😢

and where do I purchase the parts?

You need the Dj kit fro the needle and spring.

The jets are needed for set up,, not included or designed for the DJ kit.

You can get all of that throught the TT store.

Jets

DJ kit for the S

You will also want an extended fuel screw.. This can be had from Keintech

Can I just use the stock needle and spring, it seems that some bikes have to stay with the stock?

No,,well yes,,, umm, no 😢

I've not seen any of the correctly working setup use the stock needle, But yes,, some have found that the stock spring helps to remove a pesky bog,, but this is only on a few bikes ......

You will not know what your bike will need till you try. I can say, that the need for the stock spring has been seen on the newer bikes,, not the older ones.. Could be coincidence, or it could be due to a manufacturing change made along the way.

Now just because I'm a big dummy and all the threads I'd saved on jetting and the DJ kit were lost on with the last TT upgrade. 😢

Can you confirm from your jet link that it's the Mikuni Large Round Type (140 = MK196)?

I also have a Yosh slip on that's going on at the same time and was thinking I'd also buy the 142.5 (I ride 0-500' elevation).

Thanks

The 140 you need is the small round type (mk-288)

And the 142.5 you have already, it's stock.

MK-196 and the 25 Pilot

I hope I didn't put in the kind of wrong main jet 😢 Must have just confused the type. The large round and small round look very different don't they?

The large head and small head mains are both ok. As long as the threads are the same, no problem.

So back to my 00' S.

I will need the 140, Part # MK-288

25, Part # MK-556

and I need the Dynojet kit.

Then I can pull wheelies without shifting my fat arse to the rear of the seat and pulling on the bars, correct?
