wantmorepower Posted December 17, 2004 my 2003 dr650 is still running the stock exhaust. im tired of the all too quiet rumble of it. the only time when it doesnt sound like a kick-ass thumper is when its under full-throttle acceleration because it gets going sooooooooo fast as soon as the road ends. besides that, anyone using an aftermarket exhaust pipe? i'm looking for one that can fill the space as well as the stock(meaning i don't want a thin, narrow pea shooter of an exhaust pipe) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
savageracing Posted December 17, 2004 the fmf powercore 4 q series looks good, saves a ton of weight and sounds good, but not too loud. the pipe now sits inboard of the side plate about 1/2 inch instead of rubbing the rubber bumper on the plate. but in no way does it look like a pea shooter. hell that stock pipe is one monstrausity of a pipe if you ask me. just remember, if you pipe it, you have to jet it. the bike is already lean from the factory and putting the pipe on it will only make it worse.
