drzdog Posted December 17, 2004 I've had my DRZ400s for a year now and have 5000 mls. on it. I commute to work, so most of those miles are on the street. I check my air filter regularly and clean as needed. I change my oil every 1000 mls. A friend of mine is going to teach me how to replace my fork and brake fluids next week. Is there any thing else I should consider doing on my 1 year anniversary????

Spud786 Posted December 17, 2004 Well , normally offroad bikes I dump fork oil after first ride or so. Didn't do the DRZ until 15,000 miles. The oil was still clean, but most miles were street. Just expected the opposite, but was surprised. But my preference would have been the honda/showa 5w in quart bottles, honda has two different 5 weights, the good stuff is red in a black bottle. But stocking conditions had me go with the other 5 weight older type. I assume you have the latest offroad forks, stock S height is 129mm,, Im runnin 123mm. I think on the S via heavier spring max oil height is 100mm.
