Rejetting required with new Dr. D?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at getting the Dr. D with the spark arrestor for my 250R and was wondering if I need to rejet with the pipe?

The Dr. D website basically states that "stock" jetting is used with the pipe. Thanks in advance, I know some of you are probably getting sick of my questions but I really do appreciate it. At 36 I'm alot more careful about my purchases than I was at 18! 😢

Run it stock first and see how it runs. If it doesn't have that lean bog down low when you crack the throttle (in gear), then your fine.

I didn't rejet my '05 with the Dr. D and it runs great. It did take longer to warm up / run clean without the choke, so it did apparently lean things out some. But I believe it needed that. I rode at about 3000 feet, 40-50 degrees without a hiccup.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the Dr. D will be my xmas present to myself.
