wow, this thread is going very well for being almost an hour old. how about an idea to keep it that way -- there is to be no commentary... that's right, don't bicker about why peanut oil is better than sperm whale oil for your clutch. just state what oil you are using, and that's it. not why you are using it, not how your friend's porn star sister thinks it's the slipperiest stuff ever invented, not how it was used by NASA in V-ger, etc etc. just the facts ma'am!

Anyway, I run Silkolene 10w-40, seems to do just fine.

you must have missed the pissing matches of 2001. oh, and 2002 as well. then there was a resurgence again in 2003. early 2004 seemed peaceful. but there was a small flare up in the summer. i'm just hoping we can go 14 more days without an unwinnable "my oil is better than yours" outbreak. c'mon guys, just 13 days and change left. don't do it -- save the kittens! 😢

Amsoil 20w50 motorcycle specific (24 qts worth)

Mobil 1 "red cap" 15w50 (30 qts worth)

Valvoline 15w40 4strk motorcycle oil (4 qts worth)

Valvoline VR1 sae50 (4 qts worth)

Castrol 4strk Motorcycle 20w50 (6 qts worth)

Castrol GTX 20w50 (20 qts worth)

Castrol GTX 10w40 (20 qts worth)

and i'm sure this is a few quarts shy of what i've really used.

Shell Rotella Synthetic in my 03 YZ250F. (Now my dad's bike and I'm sure he will continue to use the same)

Run the same thing in both sides of my 450 now.

😢 Not to condemn or condone any specific brand, is it harmful to change oils due to their specific additives or types especially as far as the clutch plates go??

Amsoil 20w/50 Racing. But like FPMX, if money was a big concern, I'd use the Shell Rotella (synthetic) which I also use in the trannys of my 2-strokes.
