Backfires when starting????

Recommended Posts

Well I got my suspension back today and slapped it back on. Well anyways it is about 30 degrees outside here in Reno, and I cant get my bike started. Im hoping the plug is just fouled cause it is stil the stock one. I have tried kicking it with no twist of throttle and choke on, also twisting the throttle a couple times and no start. Now it pops really loud when i try to start each every couple of times. I think it is a backfire. What could be causing this and is it bad for the bike? Should i adjust my fuel screw? Leaner or richer? I really want to go riding tomorrow and try out my new suspension.

Im not 100% sure, but check your intake valves, mine went to 0 and wouldnt start and would backfire every few kicks.

Try twisting the throttle halfway and keeping it there and then kicking. Most likely it will start.
