CRF 230 - Oil drain plug location and oil capacity?

I know I should "check the manual", but I do not have one yet ?

Can someone point out where the drain plug is for the oil?

How much oil does it take to fill it up after an oil change?

Did I read correctly in another thread that you have to take the crankcase cover off to clean the oil filter?

It's on the left side of the case by the shifter.And it takes 1.1 us quart, and to check the oil level it should be on the top mark without screwing the dip stick into the case. the manual say's that you do not have to clean the centrifugal filter until you have over 1,200 miles on it.

Also you'll need a massive 24mm socket for the drain plug.

I've cleaned my spinner quite a few times. So far, it looks like 400-600 miles is a good cleaning frequency.

I use 1.5 qts of oil per change.

1.5 quarts? I remember when I had it I just put in 1 quart and it put it right above the add/fill marks. Why so much?

That puts the oil level on my bike at the top of the full mark.

I am not sure what a centrifugal filter is but the spring and strainer come out when you remove the cap.

A 15/16" socket works perfectly.

oil centrifugal filter is under the clutch cover.

use the same wrench for the drain plug you use for the axle nut.

I always used 1 full liter to re-fill.

same way with the 150 i was so confused when i got it cause i was used to the plug at the bottom and ya i changed it last weekend it took me 2 hours and then i finaly just said screw it and i just crancked down on it and then oil drained out
