Removing cross bar.

Recommended Posts

There was a post on www.ktmtalk.com about this last week. I even e-mailed TAG about it and they do not recommend removing the cross bar, it's what gives the handlebar strength.

The oversized bars have significantly more strength due to the fact that they are larger in diameter.

I was thinking about removing it because I was going to put it on a snowmobile and i dont know if the mountain strap with fit with the cross bar.

Well if it's a snowmobile, the question to ask yourself is whether you'll be subjecting it to the same loads as it sees on a dirt bike.

I don't sled, so I don't know.

It would seem to me that for horsing around on a snowmobile, it'd probably be all right. Unless you're doing that crazy snow-supercross stuff or something on your sled.

It's only a crossbar-style handlebar, it's not like it's a hundred dollar Pro Taper or something. If you bend it, replace it.
