It's out in the middle of the desert, not really any trees, there are a few, but they aren't green cause it's winter. Must have removed the dead cows....

seriously, that trail looked like so much fun, and was that snow on the ground? who cares about dead cows anyways, they are easy to ride over, I hit em in third gear pinned all the time!!!

Great footage. I'm going to have to re-think my helmet cam set up, I have my lens under my visor (for protection) but I don't look far enough down the trail.

My helmet camera is the CHEAPEST one I could find. Paid about $120 on ebay and it's a 380 line. Was looking to upgrade to a 480 cause I can tell it's not as vivid or clear on my larger TV and it bugged me a bit, but for internet it's totally fine.

That was the first time I used it after messing with the angle a bit it does look pretty good. Next I have to work on keeping my helmet from jiggling, which is what is causing most of the camera motion, my helmet is tight, and I never noticed anything until I was thinking about the camera mounted on it. We'll see this weekend when I try it out again, down south.

White Wash is between Green River and Moab, you access it from Green River (or be ready for long washed out dirt roads from Moab). Tons of cool riding, but I've only been there once, what you see on my helmet cam is everything I've seen. I have ridden a lot in Moab, but it's mostly Jeep trails, but they are fun too. I think that answers everyones questions......

Yes it's the lipstick type. I don't really know if any of them actually have part numbers or brands, but all the ccd's inside are sony, so it really doesn't matter who you get it from, they are all the same in either 380 or 480 lines. Minor differences between companies selling helmet cams are how the wire configurations are and different mounting systems. Mine is one wire with the camera and mic on one end and then the video, audio, and power connectors on the other. Some systems disconnect at the camera so you are not wired to your packback, which is only a pain when you stop to rest and take off your helmet. and some have independent video and mic wires with both needing power, usually done with a splitter at the power source. The lipstick cameras run on 8 AA batteries which also runs the mic. I put my camera and the 8 AA battery pack in my camelbak, works great. I also put the mic inside the helmet in the space for your ear, so the mic is right next to my hear, it works really well and NO wind noise. When I talk you can hear it fine too.

Hey Yroc - great Video! We're planning on riding Moab this April and I'd love to get to those trails too. I know the general area that you are talking about, but can you point me to a web site with trail maps, directions, tips, etc.? Or can you tell me what roads you take to get there? Are the trails hard to find? We're not from that area so, I'm not super familiar with the trails although we've ridden Moab before. Thanks! Bill

I've ridden that area twice. Once from White Wash going East and once starting out right across the highway from the Super 8 in Green River. It's strange to see it so wet.

You need to go a little farther West and ride the San Rafael Swell.
