Foresthiill Quad Ride Sunday The 6th

Recommended Posts

 Gentlemen

 I know this is a dirt bike site, but I need to check Foresthill conditions this weekend..A few of us will be there Superbowl Sunday around 10:00 doing a little exploring. Anyone is welcome to join us or bash quads. I don't want to get the new potato chopper muddy, so it's time to fire up the Suckzuki 4X4 and widen the trails out.. Peace

 oh by the way...for quads 10:00am means around noon.. :D

d'oh! too bad its on a Sunday and i work that day, otherwise i'd be game for that. i havent been to FH since my DRZ days and would love to take my YFZ up there. y'all can bash quads all you want, but somehow i pass ALOT of guys on dirt bikes on the trails. i thought dirt bikes were supposed to be faster, or am i just that much faster than the average joe? anywho... y'all have fun up there... maybe next time

oh yeah... i just got a message from Comcast last night. they just added FOX, ABC AND NBC to High Defenition. so the Superbowl is gonna be in HD for me.... i CAN'T WAIT!!

no one could get flu shots this year remember. on top of that our lady office manager made a big deal about how all of us should not try and get flu shots to save them for the babies and old ladies..........you know the routine, then it became like criminal here in red communist California for a white male to suggest I get sick easy and hard and would like a flu shot....no way jose. not this year. My whole life the flu ruins me.I'm very suseptible to flu.....when I get flu shots usually I get maybe one small flu a year when I can't get flu shots I can get 3 major flus a year.....YES this one this time was a major dose, a full 7-10 day course of it....... I'm still very weak, headache, body ache and congested, with nausua........and its been 7 days. But I'm over the hump was at work half day today and the fever is all gone.

I got your funny PM about my Husky buds..they are great guys.

My next bike #3 may be a yz250. I could talk to Cisco about that if he's still there......he moves around alot that guy

So Im back.  Some of you might remember riding with me.  I had a 2013 500exe which was sold after a truck accident.  Now Im on a new FE501 which is giving me clutch and performance blues.  Picked up a used 2001 KTM for a spare bike on a whim and took it out Friday.  Wow I miss the simple 2stroke after dealing with a brand new FE501 issues...maybe Ill sell the 501 and stick with a cheap 2t.  Man that bike is fun...even with my old 225lb ass riding it around.
Anyways Im back with a decent portable Drone that Ill be using to get some cool footage in the wide opens.  It does pretty good with object tracking and object avoidance.  Very happy with the results.
Looking forward to a meetup.  Im a little out of shape, but working on it and my drone skills.

      Hey all,
I'm looking at buying a 2004 Suzuki DRZ400EK or at least I think it's an EK according to Vin lookup websites, but it does not appear to have a kickstarter. I was told the bike was owned by a motorcycle dealer and that it has a current green sticker, and a California license plate but has not been registered for the streets since 2011. I want this as a dual sport but am not clear if the fact that it already has a plate means I am good to register it or if maybe they took away the ability to register it after it was plated, California loves to do that kind of stuff. Since the bike was owned by a dealer I would think they were up on the latest regulations in California, but who knows. Can anyone add any insight as to what I should look for on the bike itself like the carburetor, model numbers etc? Or do I just try my luck at the DMV?

I am new to riding in the desert and the tiny gravel called sand around here. I run Dunlop AT-81's back home because they work well in a variety of conditions and don't climb mud ruts. The one thing I don't like is that with the narrower tread profile on the AT-81 it doesn't grip as well in hard leaning turns- since the tread doesn't wrap around the carcass as far as say, an MX-52 for example. This makes me wonder if I might "skate" less on the BLM trails if I ran a different tire. What tires are popular out here and why?
