forks ??

Recommended Posts

The XR400 does have rebound adjustment but the XR250 does not. I went with Silkolene RSF 10wt in the forks to slow down rebound then backed off my compression adjustment slightly. It seems to work good.

The XR2.5 forks are just fine without rebound adjustability.

Although, the forks are too stiff, too harsh.

Compression on the XR2.5 forks should be turned the whole way out, softest setting, unless your really BIG.

I weigh 175 lbs. without equipment and at the softest position I still can't get them to bottom out when landing flat from a jump. (we fly about 20 feet and land from about 6 feet high). Ideally, you should be able to lightly bottom when landing flat from this height. We only do this as an exercise in setting up the suspension for the best performance. Keep in mind we're not MX jumpers, we're woods riders and want our bikes set up accordingly.

This is with stock fluid (5W) at stock fluid level.

We have the compression set at the softest for both the forks and shock, then we slow the rebound on the shock so it doesn't baby buggy bounce.

When ripping along the trail I want to use all of my travel, not half.
