As far as I know ,

No black plastic 2.6 tank (Beside IMS/Clarke , but they are bigger then 2.6 , I think 2.9... not sure)

The only 2.6 tank for E is the clear IMS that Pairwaidg (X-Burned's bike) has.

I might be wrong , but this is what I remmember.

A KLX400R (DRZ400E equiv). Has a plastic tank just like the E model DRZ but its black.

That is what he is after. I don't blame him either. Its black, plastic and probably can get one cheaper than any of the IMS or Clarke ones.:cry:

Actually this tank bolts on to the frame and uses a strap in the back because it is an E tank.

If you removed the horn off its bracket you would have one place to bolt the tank. The other side wouldn't though but it would work..... You would have to come up with a way to hook the strap up on the back of the tank though. I used a piece of aluminum on my S. Wish I had a pic to demonstrate. I have no idea about the fan.

I wouldn't bet on getting one cheaper than an ims or acerbis or whatever, they are sold by ron ayers for $430.66. One other nice thing about them is that I have never heard nor have I ever had a fittment issue with one.

Good Question Alo-

Nate - Where'd you see a stock klx400r tank go cheap??? I've seen a couple of drz-e's for sale, not at a price I'd exactly call cheap, but never a klx. I do believe I have seen one klx-sr for sale though.

Anyone have a picture of whatthe 3.2 ims for the S model looks like on the bike, I have a clarke and am not sure I wouldn't like to have a smaller tank, and save the clarke for long trips...

If I recall I have seen at least a couple trickle onto ebay. Few and far between I suppose.
