O-ring chains

Recommended Posts

are o-ring chains made just basically for muddy wet conditions or do people use them for all types of riding? Sand, racing, etc... In other words, why wouldn't you want to buy an o-ring chain?...just because of the higher costs?

Ring chains are great for riding in sloppy conditions. But sand is one of the worst places for a ring chain.

The best scenario would be to run a standard chain most all the time, and mount up a ring chain when its wet and sloppy.

Both need proper lube/cleaning/adjustment for good service.

I run O ring chains all the time, in all conditions. Just makes sense to me
