Why do we keep loseing?

Recommended Posts

If we spend thousands of dollars on our equitment and better the econmey. When someone else dose not. Then why do we keep loseing rideing areas to hikers, skiers, and horses?

This goes for snowmobiles, dirtbikeing, and 4x4ing

Because we play too nice and are willing to share.

Unlike the greenies who want the land all to themselves.

face it man, most quads - bikes pay no attention to rules. they ride where they want, screwing stuff up and ruin it for everybody. if you want your space, follow the rules and stay on the trails.

Hikers and horse people are often more wealthy and better politically connected. Many are retired and have a lot of time to go lobby.

Too many motorcycle riders have a "It will all get shut down anyhow, so I'm going to act like a butthead and do what ever I want." It almost gurantees areas being shut down faster.

Join the BRC.

Learn to work within the system.

Get politically active.

Inform idiots they are idiots.

True. Not to mention leaving a bunch of trash and mess behind. I'm sure everyone on this board is a responsible trail-user, but the percentage of thoughtless a-holes in ATV/4x4/dirtbiking is higher than those who hike, ride pedal bikes, etc.

Be a good ambassador for the sport. Pack out more trash than you bring in.

Here in Michigan I think they use the ORV tag money to buy "No offroad vehicle" signs  Least ways, never saw a horse with a sticker on it's a$$.

Ban together and vote! That includes quad riders. We can't afford to be snobs to the quad riders. They out sale us 5 to 1.

Sorry I dont agree, while I dont condone "screwing it up for others"

this is just an excuse that Greenies use to close land. It does NOT

matter-IMO- what we do or dont do-they want to Close it ALL !

And they will use any excuse to do it. Even when we follow all the rules

they just get the Gov (us) to pay for some study showing that some

bogus endangered species is in a riding area etc... and then sue the

BLM/Forest Service to get it closed...

I find REI, and the Sierra Club on the same list of off-road haters / Gun haters.

These people don’t realize that there are a boatload of people that don’t want anyone in the outdoors, they wish to close everything. We all need to hang together or we will surely be hanged separately.
