Question changing WR to YZ

Recommended Posts

I've done all the changes to the engine and now the body is up for the makeover. I have an 02 WR 250F. When removing the odometer what should I do with the right side wheel bearing cover or spacer that is part of the odometer? Can I leave it there with the Odometer cable disconnected or should I buy a YZ spacer, if that is possible? Also I am changing seat/tank and front number plate. Any advice, helpful information would be appreciated.

I left the drive there and put a plastic plug that I had over the threads and wrapped it with electrical tape. That was in March of 2001. It is all still there.

you can't use the the zip-ty spacer on the odo side of the wr, barnums pro or 4 strokes only makes a spacer to replace the odo drive (i hear the barnums one is not that great) i just siliconed the hole and screwed the cap back on. its been like that for almost a year.

Use a cap off of a tube of toothpaste or liquid aluminum when you remove the cable. Works fine also. :)
