James, 02 WR426 ACV Mod Question

James,

If you owned an 02 WR426 would you modify the ACV? And if you would, which method would you recommend? Right now I am having trouble adjusting the fuel screw because I can not hear any difference in the idle speed at any setting. From fully closed to 3 1/2 turns out. I understand that this mod could make this easier to get the jetting worked out correctly. Thank you,

Josh,

No, I would leave the ACV alone. It's simply adding air to the pilot jet, which would most likely be best at a #45 on your bike.

Block the passages behind the diaphram if you want to disable it. The idle jetting will become richer and will need a #42PJ instead.
