For MotoX, is the X drastically inferior?

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2004 CRF250X - I've been riding about 2 years and when I bought bikes for me and my kids, I wanted the electric start and kickstand because I'm on and off it alot helping the kids.

I thought I'd be doing most trail riding but I got a dozer and built a halfway decent supercross track, so I'm doing mostly jumps (and loving it!). Not huge ones, by any means: 25-30 foot tabletops, 12-16 foot doubles, all about 3-6 foot tall takeoff ramps.

My question is....

Does the R perform significantly better than the X for Supercross-style riding? If so, in what way.

I've got an opportunity to pick up an almost new R and I'm thinking of making the switch if there is a good reason to.

Thanks!!!!

IMO the X & Rs are made for their respective purposes, but I've seen Xs on the track. Hell, I've seen XR400s on the track! :)

I say keep the X for rid'n w/ the kids and all, then get the R for the track.

Agreed. Having them both enables you to set up each bike to its max potential. When set up properly, there is a big difference.
