Fork Cap

Recommended Posts

Just got done lubing chasis steering and new fork oil. Was tinkering with dampening on fork when for no apparent reason brass screw head fell off of fork cap. No torque applied just broke off. So I ordered what appeared to be a replacement screw {at least thats how it looked on the schematic}and as it turned out it was the bleader screw. I then found out that the screw could not be replaced and that I needed to purchase a new cap. Which I was willing to do at a reasonable price. However $65.00 is a friggin ripoff! If this was for a pair I could live with it, but are you kidding me? So if anyone knows of an alternative I'm all ears? Thanks, John :)

It is $65 because it is a little more than just a cap. And no I know of no other options.

The cap itself is soft and easily damaged as well so it is best to be careful with them.

Might not be a bad idea some of my BMX buddies do cnc work for aerospace companies. Hadn't thought of that. John
